Message from the PrincipalI

Thanks, once again, to our Parent Council for organizing and running our 4th Music Extravaganza.  The variety of musical acts shows the talent and commitment to music we have at Egremont.  Kids (and adults) benefit greatly, in spirit and in mind, from involvement with, and exposure to, music of all kinds.  Thanks to Toby Bruce for his fine work as Master of Ceremonies (Especially the corny jokes!).  We look forward to continuing this event which is fast becoming an Egremont tradition.
Parent Council would also like everyone to save the date of June 18th for our Family Fun Night!  Beginning at 5:00 p.m., there will be, as always,  food, games and prizes.  We hope all our families will join us once again.
The grade 1 and 3 swim program is up and running every Friday (except PD Days) until June.  Students receive lessons at the Hanover Aquatic Centre at a greatly reduced cost  thanks to the support of both Parent Council and Student Council.
Our Jump Rope for Heart skip-a-thon is Friday, May 3rd . Students will, once again, jump their hearts out to help raise money for the Canadian Heart and Stroke Association and all of their important work.    We look forward to another successful event  and thanks to Mrs. Moore for her work in organizing.
May is a very busy month, as we fully engage in plans for the next school year:   class organization, staffing, class building, scheduling, etc.   When deciding on class placement for students we always endeavor to look for the best possible fit, taking into account their academic and social strengths and needs.  In a smaller school, of course, our options for class placement are more limited.   If you have particular requests regarding class placement, please submit them, in writing, to the school office prior to the second week of June.   Also, if you will be moving over the summer, please let us know, as this affects our planning for 2019-2020 school year.
Our Track and Field event is set for May 29th, with a rain date of May 30th.  As students will be outside more, preparing for the T & F events, sun screen is a must. Please be sure to send sun screen with them or apply it at home prior to the school day.

As we get into warmer weather, we remind students and parents of our school dress code (attached).  Students are expected to adhere to the dress code when attending school or school events.
